Fears of a Beginner

Tae-kwon what?

Our school practices traditional Taekwon-do (ITF style).

Taekwon-Do is possibly the most popular martial art in the world. With its origins in Korea, Taekwon-Do has spread to nearly every country. One of the most distinctive characteristics of Taekwon-Do is its emphasis on kicks, but there are numerous hand techniques and stances as well. The name “Tae” translates to “to kick or smash with foot”. “Kwon” means “hand or fist”, and “Do” means “Art”. Hence, Taekwon-Do is “the art of kicking and punching”.
